Build tools to help creator grow their earnings and engage with their fans.
Context
Facebook helps content creators make a living by offering a full portfolio of monetization tools on the platform. Since 2020, I have been supporting the fan funding monetization products including Stars, Subscription and Premium Content, and designed a suite of creator tools to help our partners grow their fan base and improve their revenue.

Goal is a gamified way of promoting stars, creating a goal with target stars amount and incentives will incentivize fans to help creators reach their goals by sending them stars.

User research showed that fans are incentivized to send more stars to creators if they know Facebook will double creator earnings based on the amount of stars they receive.

New subscriber and subscribers who are renewed to a new month can send one celebratory comment during the creator’s live stream with highlighted comment format.

Creators get an aggregated list of new subscribers per week, so that they can create a story or a post with a pre-generated template to welcome these new fans to the subscriber community.

Stars engagement tool in live broadcaster
Creators can switch to dashboard view to check leaderboard of top star senders and stars goal progress in real-time, so that they can promote their goal to the live, recognize the top star senders.

Live alerts help creator get aggregated notification when they receive stars per 5 mins, so that they can give shout-outs to the senders in time, quickly batch react to their comments or pin the comments to make the senders stand out from the community.

Premium sticker packs sold by creators and artists that can be purchased and owned by users. Users can use these special stickers to better express themselves, tell insider joke in a specific community, celebrate events or cultural moments that are meaningful for them.
